Hotel Indigo Coventry, a distinguished new-build establishment, boasts 101 thoughtfully designed rooms that harmonise modern comfort with a profound respect for the city's rich heritage. The hotel's architectural innovation seamlessly integrates with Coventry's historic backdrop, creating a distinctive and contemporary ambiance. Inside, the interior design pays homage to the city's diverse history, skilfully incorporating elements that reflect Coventry's cultural and industrial significance. The decor is a testament to the city's journey, with nods to its medieval past and industrial prowess. Local artists and craftsmen have been engaged to infuse the spaces with bespoke touches, ensuring that each room tells a story of Coventry's heritage. Hotel Indigo Coventry not only provides a luxurious stay but also serves as a tribute to the city's past, offering guests a unique and immersive experience that combines the best of modern hospitality with a deep appreciation for history.
Navigating The Brief
In addressing the unique needs of Hotel Indigo Coventry, the imperative for a safe and secure access control solution became paramount, prompting a strategic shift towards the implementation of the Onity OnPortal system. Recognising the significance of cloud-based software in enhancing operational efficiency and guest security, Hotel Indigo Coventry sought a solution that could seamlessly integrate with their existing infrastructure while offering advanced access management capabilities. The Onity OnPortal system emerged as the ideal choice, providing a sophisticated yet user-friendly platform that allows for centralised control and real-time monitoring.
To complement this pivotal upgrade, Siemlus, a trusted technology consultancy, recommended the integration of the Hoteza IPTV system. Recognising the growing importance of in-room entertainment experiences, Siemlus proposed the Hoteza IPTV system as a means to elevate the guest experience, offering a diverse range of high-quality content and interactive features. Together, the Onity OnPortal and Hoteza IPTV systems form a comprehensive technology suite, ensuring Hotel Indigo Coventry remains at the forefront of hospitality innovation while prioritising guest satisfaction and security.
The Technological Arsenal
Siemlus embarked on a comprehensive technological overhaul, covering various aspects of hotel operations. The scope included Administrative IT, Access Control, Telephony, Retro Phones, Mini Bars, and Safes. Additionally, Siemlus inherited the responsibility of revamping the existing CCTV, Background Music (BGM), and Intercom systems, as a third party had fallen short of the Castlebridge standard.

Design – Procure – Install – Manage & Support
Design: Siemlus meticulously crafted floorplans, annotating them to ensure that the technology seamlessly integrated with the hotel's layout. A detailed technology specification was built to cater to the unique needs of Hotel Indigo Coventry.
Procure: Siemlus handled the procurement of a wide array of items, from bedroom accessories like minibars to essential IT equipment such as PCS and laptops, ensuring that the hotel was equipped with the best-in-class amenities.
Install: The installation process involved the first and second fixes for access control, structured cabling, and IT infrastructure. This stage was crucial in bringing the design and procurement phases to life, creating a robust and integrated technological ecosystem.
